Alosa's mission is finally complete。 Not only has she recovered all three pieces of the map to a legendary hidden treasure, but the pirates who originally took her captive are now prisoners on her ship。 Still unfairly attractive and unexpectedly loyal, first mate Riden is a constant distraction, but now he's under her orders。 And she takes great comfort in knowing that the villainous Vordan will soon be facing her father's justice。

When Vordan exposes a secret her father has kept for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race with the feared Pirate King。 Despite the danger, Alosa knows they will recover the treasure first 。 。 。 after all, she is the daughter of the Siren Queen。

This duogy was such a fun, easy, and quick read。 You fall in love with Alosa and Riden’s complicated relationship and the battle scenes in this book are great! Everything I expected in a pirate book。 I’d recommend this to someone that loved Elizabeth in Pirates of the Caribbean because Alosa gives off similar vibes。

Where do i even begin? This duology was soooooooo good!!! I read The Shadows between us by Tricia too and really loved it, but found some tiny issues with it, but this series had none of those。We had a strong female MC and her love interest who was also strong witted and gave her a hard time about everything, it was so cool。 Their banter was great, Alosa’s development was good since she had to learn how to trust someone new and trust that he loved her in spite of her non human side。 This pair rea Where do i even begin? This duology was soooooooo good!!! 4。5 STARS!"I can't stand the pressure of my own thoughts。"Ohmylord! This was so good。 The characters, the banter, the adventure。 Also the best worst joke ever is in this book。 It goes: 'A pirate at sea has a peg leg, a hook for a hand, and an eye patch。 One of his companions asks hi how he lost his leg。 He answers, 'a cannonball'。 Then his companion asks how he lost his hand。 He answers, 'a sword'。 When the companion asks how he lost his eye, the man says, 'a spray of sea'。 It was his first day 4。5 STARS!"I can't stand the pressure of my own thoughts。"Ohmylord! Alosa and Riden are 😘。 And I loved that we got to see Alosa's crew because they are some badass women!I will say the cover is a bit weird。 There's just half of a ship on fire in the corner and the girl (Alosa) on the cover is so white it looks as if she's covered in chalk dust。 。。。more

I gave this book a rating of 4/5。This had a few twists and turns which may have caught me off guard。 I loved the first book, but this was just missing a few scenes of character development。 Overall It was a great book, I'm pleased with the ending。 I gave this book a rating of 4/5。This had a few twists and turns which may have caught me off guard。 I loved the first book, but this was just missing a few scenes of character development。 Overall It was a great book, I'm pleased with the ending。 。。。more

LOVED IT! Packed with even more action and intrigue than the first book in the duology。 Of course I could predict what the ending would be, but I had no IDEA how they were going to get there。 There were unexpected twist and turns everywhere (even though I can usually predict what will happen halfway through), and can I just say, they had the worst luck throughout their journey。 Like damn, everything that could have gone wrong had gone wrong and it was a treat to read how they were going to push LOVED IT! this was not as fun as the first one。 i think the story soured for me when the first time we meet riden again he's asking if alosa has a lover 😭 that is just so hetero, textbook str8t i dunno i didn't vibe。 also they spent most of the book fighting which i understood was necessary but i didn't enjoy it。 although i liked the conversations they were having, and i felt the growing period was natural? the plotline with alosa's mother felt So Weird and i guess i liked how her mom was good, but it was this was not as fun as the first one。 i think the story soured for me when the first time we meet riden again he's asking if alosa has a lover 😭 that is just so hetero, textbook str8t i dunno i didn't vibe。 also they spent most of the book fighting which i understood was necessary but i didn't enjoy it。 although i liked the conversations they were having, and i felt the growing period was natural? the plotline with alosa's mother felt So Weird and i guess i liked how her mom was good, but it was so rushed feeling。 it just wasn't as engaging as the first one。 the side romance? with kearan and sordida was also very Straight。 more then anything i just didn't feel all that much for this story another then annoyance rip 😔。 。。。more

I preferred the first book in the duology, but it was a fairly interesting read。 Light and fast-paced, a cute romance。 Though I hadn't realized how simple the author's writing felt until this book and it seemed pretty bare。 I preferred the first book in the duology, but it was a fairly interesting read。 Light and fast-paced, a cute romance。 Though I hadn't realized how simple the author's writing felt until this book and it seemed pretty bare。 。。。more

I absolutely loved this book。I think that everyone’s opinion will be different as my sister hated this series and couldn’t finish it while I could not put the book down。I loved all the characters, the plot was well written and unlike other series, it was well thought out and I never felt bored reading。The whole aspect of being a pirate was so interesting for me and the characters inner battles with herself and with the relationships she had with others were so intriguing。I would definitely recom I absolutely loved this book。I think that everyone’s opinion will be different as my sister hated this series and couldn’t finish it while I could not put the book down。I loved all the characters, the plot was well written and unlike other series, it was well thought out and I never felt bored reading。The whole aspect of being a pirate was so interesting for me and the characters inner battles with herself and with the relationships she had with others were so intriguing。I would definitely recommend this book for people who like a strong female protagonist。:) 。。。more

This book was significantly better than the first。 Mostly because Riden and Alosa’s relationship was half way figured out。。。 and we didn’t have to deal with Alosa doing the same thing over and over。First thing, Levenseller needs a medal for not being afraid to maim and kill any and all characters。 Really made you worry and wonder if everyone was going to make it out alive (spoiler, they don’t)。And the plot was super fun。 You always knew the big fight was coming, but getting there was an awesome This book was significantly better than the first。 Mostly because Riden and Alosa’s relationship was half way figured out。。。 and we didn’t have to deal with Alosa doing the same thing over and over。First thing, Levenseller needs a medal for not being afraid to maim and kill any and all characters。 Really made you worry and wonder if everyone was going to make it out alive (spoiler, they don’t)。And the plot was super fun。 You always knew the big fight was coming, but getting there was an awesome journey。The sirens weren’t as fleshed out as I’d hoped them to be, but that’s likely due to how little they’re really seen。 Great book! 。。。more

Way better than the first! While the characters were still fairly one-sided, they had more depth than the first one。 The plot was less complex but better written。 Definitely worth reading if you liked the first one! Great for anyone who likes books with tons of pirates and swords。

Omg yes! Just like the first book, I absolutely adored this book too。 Alosa was once again the perfect main character, and Riden was just。。。。<3。 I had an emotional connection with every character, and there were many times throughout the book where I was so on edge or jumping with excitement。 Every time Alosa and Riden had had a romantic scene that got interrupted, I got so upset。 Neither of the two books in this duology put me in a reading slump; I couldn't put either of them down。 I managed to Omg yes! A fantastic book to end to finish the duology off。 I absolutely loved this journey of Alosa’s。 She grows so much and it’s brilliantly written。 Loads more action, frustratingly the sexual tension is still there but the teasing of what’s to come was oh so good。 More emotion, Alosa has so much to deal with, she feels pressure for her crew to keep them safe, her fathers is not who she thought he was and her Siren nature and side of her life had become so much stronger。 I loved how it played out and A fantastic book to end to finish the duology off。 I absolutely loved this journey of Alosa’s。 She grows so much and it’s brilliantly written。 Loads more action, frustratingly the sexual tension is still there but the teasing of what’s to come was oh so good。 More emotion, Alosa has so much to deal with, she feels pressure for her crew to keep them safe, her fathers is not who she thought he was and her Siren nature and side of her life had become so much stronger。 I loved how it played out and how it ended。 Really pleased with this filling and will recommend。 。。。more

2。5 stars (rounded up)The Sequel to Daughter of The Pirate King follows in much the same vain as its predecessor, except that instead of focusing on our heroine as a pirate, it focuses on her being a siren (as the title suggests)。The narrative voice and the world is exactly the same as the first so if you want a clearer understanding on my rating, then please refer to my review for DOTPK。 Because of this, I am only going to highlight the parts that stood out to me as being different:I thoug 2。5 stars (rounded up)The Sequel to Daughter of The Pirate King follows in much the same vain as its predecessor, except that instead of focusing on our heroine as a pirate, it focuses on her being a siren (as the title suggests)。The narrative voice and the world is exactly the same as the first so if you want a clearer understanding on my rating, then please refer to my review for DOTPK。 Because of this, I am only going to highlight the parts that stood out to me as being different:I thought the relationship between Alosa and Ridden was more developed and believable in this book, although I still wish there wasn't so much unnecessary denial。 There were also a few plot backtracks which was a little frustrating。 What I mean by that is some rules that had been established in book one became re-established in book two in order to fit the new narrative - this was mostly in regards to Alosa's siren half and her history with her father。 Finally, I thought there was more action in this book which made it flow better than the first, but it also solidified my belief that this book was not necessarily for me。It is a quintessential, YA novel but definitely more appealing to the younger end of that scale。 Had I been 13-years-old reading this, it would have got a higher rating I'm sure。 But as an avid reader who is used to more complex twists, writing which trusts its audience's intelligence, and dynamic world building, this book isn't one that meets that criteria。 On the flip side though, it is an easy read and I would probably recommend to readers who are 15 and under。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 I loved the story as much as the first book, but the content was a little dirtier in this sequel。 There are a couple more curse words, more gory scenes, and one almost sex scene。 I’m sure it’s all mild by some people’s standards, but I wish it had been cleaner。 I would have given it 5 stars。

This book was quick and rather addictive。 The beginning I found rather repetitive but the book still held my interest。 I enjoyed a majority of the characters while still having ones I found repulsive, which to me makes it more interesting。I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator quite enjoyable so if physically reading is an issue for whatever reason or you just love audiobooks I'd give that route a go。 ⭐⭐⭐。5 This book was quick and rather addictive。 The beginning I found rather repetitive but the book still held my interest。 I enjoyed a majority of the characters while still having ones I found repulsive, which to me makes it more interesting。I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator quite enjoyable so if physically reading is an issue for whatever reason or you just love audiobooks I'd give that route a go。 ⭐⭐⭐。5 。。。more
